There are many things that you can see and do when in New Zealand. From wine tasting to bungee jumping, from whale watching to visiting some Maori heritage and culture, there are many things around which you can plan your family trip to New Zealand. Here are some things to keep in mind when planning your New Zealand Package Trip.

• What does your family really like?
This is a very important question as you will be traveling with your family. It is important that everyone's needs, likes and dislikes are taken into consideration. Do you want a Cultural and Heritage visit? An adventure holiday? Ecotourism? Movie tourist holiday? Or something combining everything? You can do everything here, but you will need to plan it out very carefully taking into consideration the travel, stay, distance and costs. Don't be fooled by the size of the country as it is a mountainous one and so can take hours to get from one point to another.

• How are you travelling?
This is very important as transport can either be the solution or the problem. The distances might not be great, but as I have said above it could take you some time as the roads through the mountains are often narrow and winding. We would advise you to hire a car or rent a camperhome as this allows you to enjoy the real New Zealand. You may need to extra stops and be extra careful during the rains. • Maori Culture:
It is important that you respect the Maori Culture as their traditions are sacred so remember this when taking photos and videos. Shoes are not allowed in Maori and you will have to remove them even in the museums. So if you are going on a cultural trip wear slip-ons as the chances of you removing your shoes all day are high.

• Accommodation:
If you are traveling as a family then accommodation can be inexpensive for you. If you are traveling in a motorhome then there are plenty of caravan parks that have great facilities like bathrooms, internet facilities, and play parks for kids as well and you have already taken care of the sleeping with the bunks in the van.

• Self Tour through New Zealand:
This, I believe, is the best way to see New Zealand. You can drive your self around to any destination and see all that you want for as long as you want, without anyone telling you otherwise. You could drive through the forests to see the Kauri's or catch the glow worms. Become a beach bum or run it with a quad bike or indulge in some horse riding along the pristine stretches of the 90 mile coastline. This is not only light on your wallet but is probably the most fun you will have ever.
